Transformations, Inc. is a residential development and building company located in Townsend, Massachusetts. The company is run by R. Carter Scott, its President. It was incorporated in 1986 and has served over a thousand customers since its start in the contracting field.

The company's specialty is sustainable development and green building. Transformations received the Energy Star Custom Builder of the year award at Fenway Park in 2005 (see below). Each home is built to the Energy Star standards and most earn the highest rating, a 5 Star Plus. Most homes have a heating cost in the range of $300 to $600 per YEAR and a cooling cost of about $50 per year! Low Impact Development (LID) storm water management techniques have been used in two developments so far.

Transformations has been selected to participate in the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) pilot rating program for the Townsend Project of 40 new homes. Each home in this development built by Transformations has a photovoltaic system on the roof ranging is size from 2.7 kW to 4.6 kW.

The vision for the future includes eco villages in various locations. Consulting on two projects is currently underway. Transformations is open for working with owners of land, desiring to mindfully develop their properties, as well as individuals or groups looking to custom build in a sustainable manner.
